Art Study
2014-2018
Master Copy & Color Theory
Edgar Degas has been one of my favorite artists for many years. I have seen many of his works in person from the Art Institute in Chicago to the Musee d'Orsay in Paris, so I wanted to study his techniques and strokes by copying some of his works. The first is done in oil, while the other two are charcoal and pastel pencil drawings. The first two color theory designs, painted in gouache, were done at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts where I received an award for outstanding color & design student and both of these images were subsequently sold at the student show. The remainder of the color theory work is done in acryla-gouache as part of my studies at SCAD.
