OBJECTIVE

Conceptualize a new magazine and design a masthead, cover, contents page, and two two-page article spreads. In addition, design a complementary mobile application that considers the needs of the user.

CONCEPT

Brick is for all LEGO lovers. LEGO, while classed as a toy, is enjoyed by people of all ages. Brick Parent magazine and the Bricktastic mobile app connect parents and children by promoting creativity, imagination and fun. The design uses bright saturated colors, inspired by the LEGO brick color palette and clean, simple layouts to appeal to children and adults alike. The Bricktastic app combines the strengths of current LEGO apps, such as inventory and wish list management and access to LEGO news and reviews with an added social aspect. With a simple interface that is easy to navigate for any level, the design and usability set this application apart from the competition.
