OBJECTIVE

Design a book that appropriately and effectively expresses the content through the use of typography to establish voice, rhythm and pacing.

CONCEPT

Using excerpts from the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales, and type as illustration, this narrative highlights the darker elements of the original stories that are often removed from the more well-known family-friendly versions told to children. Targeted at generation-x who enjoy fantasy and the marcabre, this print and digital book uses dark jewel tones to appeal to the more adult audience and for a more modern aesthetic combined with traditional fairy tale typefaces to trigger nostalgia for the reader.
